China Glaze Beach Cruise-r Nail Lacquer
China Glaze Beach Cruise-r Nail Lacquer ($6.49 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “glimmering fuchsia grape.” It’s a vibrant fuchsia magenta with a very fine white shimmer that’s barely visible in natural light. SpaRitual Color Trip is slightly darker, more jelly-like. SpaRitual Imaginarium is also similar, perhaps a smidgen pinker. Illamasqua Obsess is a hint more on the magenta side and has a cream finish. Deborah Lippmann Makin’ Whoopee is a little more fuchsia but has a similar fine shimmer.Beach Cruise-r is fully opaque after two medium-thick (not too thick, not too thin) coats of polish. The formula on this one was better than Splish Splash, as it wasn’t as thick. It flowed easily across the nail during application, which resulted in a bubble/pooling-free experience. It dries to a semi-matte finish, so you’ll want a good top coat if you prefer a shiny finish. The drying time was about average, though I’d say considerably shorter than a lot of neon polishes (which always seem to dry quickly).
It’s a really fun pop of pink for summer that’s very cool-toned but so bright that the undertone doesn’t matter, because it’ll contrast nicely against all skin tones, light to dark, cool to warm. Beach Cruise-r has a color that’s perfect for summer with its near-neon vibrancy and subtle shimmer.
